This paper investigates the bound states of heavy baryons, specifically focusing on the Λb baryon, within the framework of a quark model using the Hyperspherical Harmonics (H-H) formation. The study addresses the limitations of traditional quark models in accurately predicting the properties of heavy-flavored baryons by incorporating a more sophisticated treatment of the quark-quark interaction. Our objective is to determine the binding energies and mass spectra of these baryons by solving the Schrödinger equation with a potential that includes a one-gluon exchange and a linear confining term. We employ a variational method to approximate the solutions for the wave functions. The main findings indicate that the H-H formation provides a better description of the internal dynamics of heavy baryons, yielding mass values and binding energies that are in closer agreement with recent experimental data. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to a more comprehensive understanding of the strong interaction in the heavy quark sector, paving the way for more accurate predictions of undiscovered heavy baryon states.
