Heavy metal oxide (HMO) glasses with tellurite as base component with composition 80TeO2-5ZnO-(15-x)WO3-xEr2O3 where x=0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 mol% have been prepared by the melt quenching. For fabricated glasses, physical characteristics such as density and molar volumes, lanthenide ion concentration, interion distance, polaron radius, and oxygen packing density have been computed. The conformation of the functional group has been investigated using Raman spectroscopy. X-ray diffractogram analysis confirmed the glassy nature of the sun-dried specimens. Differential thermal analysis, or DSC, was used to examine the glass series' thermal behavior. Temperatures for glass transition (Tg), crystallization (Tc), and the beginning of crystallization (Tx) were measured. Calculations have been made to determine the glass stability and glass-forming tendency. For prepared samples, the specific heat capacity (Cp) was determined above the Tg and at room temperature.
